Addison, Texas

Set just on the northern edge of Dallas, Addison is a 4.4-square mile urban enclave. With its location just north of I-635 and just south of George Bush Turnpike, and with the Dallas North Tollway running right through it, residents have multiple access points to all of DFW. It’s a popular destination for those who want to build a life in DFW without the high home prices found in Dallas proper.

Addison generally attracts young families and business professionals who want to buy a house. Homes in Addison—which include townhomes, modest ranch homes, and spacious traditional-style homes alike—typically sell within the $200,000 to $600,000 range.

Addison is served by two public school districts: Dallas Independent School District and Carrollton/Farmers Branch Independent School District. In addition to public schools, Addison is home to two of North Texas' finest private schools:

  • Greenhill School is a private college preparatory institution with an enrollment of 1,200 students grades pre-K through 12.
  • Trinity Christian Academy, another private college preparatory institution, serves grades pre-K through 12 and is home to more than 1,500 students.

Although it’s a suburb, Addison stands out for its vibrant nightlife scene and diverse daytime activities, even attracting visitors from other suburbs during the week. Two fun facts: Addison has more restaurants per capita than any city in the U.S. and Addison’s Kaboom Town! is ranked in the top three fireworks shows in the nation.
