Prosper, Texas

Prosper is an affluent “small” town in central west Collin County and central east Denton County, approximately 36 miles north of downtown with a population of 31,700. It has exploded with growth, tripling its population in just ten years.

With the town motto, “A place where everyone matters,” Prosper has a small town feel with a family-oriented style of living. In the last decade, thousands of people have moved to Prosper for its relatively affordable luxury-style homes, proximity to workforce centers in the northern sector, and quality public schools. In fact, to attract homeowners, real estate investors helped build those schools.

It is bustling with new development—beautiful new neighborhoods of luxurious homes, thriving shopping and commercial areas, medical centers, and more. Yet despite all its growth, Prosper remains focused on community and small-town ideals, and you can still experience the early 20th-century railroad town in its quaint historic business district along Broadway.

The average value home price is $459,500 and the median household income is $146,733.

Prosper is served by Prosper Independent School District, which offers three elementary schools, two middle schools, and Prosper High School, all of which have received top ratings. Prosper ISD serves 14,348 students with a student-teacher ratio of 16 to 1.
